USA Jane Croson elected as MVP

 

TIJUANA, Mexico, July 10, 2010 – Jane Croson of USA Team was elected the Most Valuable Player of the NORCECA Women’s Junior Volleyball Championship won by her side for a fourth consecutive time with a victory over Dominican Republic on Saturday night in Tijuana.

 

Croson, who also resulted in the Best Attacker of the competition, was one of two Americans awarded during the closing ceremony chaired by Mr. Cristobal Marte Hoffiz, President of NORCECA Confederation. Middle-blocker Haleigh Hampton received the trophy as Best Blocker.

 

Dominican Brenda Castillo took home the awards as Best Digger, Best Receiver and Best Libero, while teammates Ana Yorkira Binet and Gabriela Reyes achieved the honors as Best Scorer and Best Setter respectively.

 

The list of awarded players was completed by Marisha Herbert of Trinidad & Tobago who was presented with the Best Server trophy.
